5 WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR SPACE

1. Declutter

Spaces will always look and feel more disorganized when cluttered. Take the decluttering process one room, shelf, or drawer at a time. Ask yourself if the item is worth taking up the space. Is the item useful or does it bring you joy? Decluttering will lighten up your space literally and metaphorically. Simply put, decluttering means less items to tidy up.

2. Organize and deep clean

An organized home is a happy home. In a world full of things we cannot control, a decluttered and organized home is certainly one of the few things in life we have a better chance of controlling. And the reason I’m telling you this is because simply knowing that it’s possible can give peace of mind. Organizing a space will enhance the items and space you love. It will create a more accessible space and an inviting space. When your items are sorted and have a home - it will inevitably look fresher!

3. Rearrange your furniture

Get creative with your space's layout. Furniture does not need to begin and end in the same spot. Often we already have what we need. You don't necessarily need to purchase a new couch or bedroom set. While you’re at it, consider moving your bed to another wall or position your couch in another direction. When you shift the layout of a room it is a great opportunity to clean hidden areas.

4. Rotate your decorative items

An easy way to change the mood of a home without spending money on new pieces is to rotate decorative accents on your coffee table or shelves. If you're currently using a decorative bowl or tray in your entryway, see how you like it in your living room instead. Consider creating a gallery wall or update your framed photos with current ones. The creative possibilities are endless!

5. Add a plant or flowers

Plants help produce more oxygen and reduce levels of carbon dioxide, as well as toxins in the air such as benzene, trichloroethlyene, and formaldehyde, according to a famous study called the NASA Clean Air Study. In addition, indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants. Indoor plants don't just look good—they can make us feel good, too.
